Boswell Capital Management is a Hong Kong based fund manager registered with the SFC. The firm manages the Intrinsic Value International Partners Fund which is registered in the Cayman Islands. We began with a group of friends and business associates as founding investors and almost all of them - or their relatives - remain as investors to this day.
BASIC
Assets under management typically belong to very long term oriented clients with resources built up over decades or generations. In keeping with their patient mindset, investments are confined to a constellation of remarkable holdings rather than widely diversified. The approach focuses on promising areas, clarifies thinking, reduces the likelihood of mistakes, prevents distractions, and lowers overall costs.
SECTOR
Our overwhelming concentration is on long established community banks for two primary reasons. First, intense regulation of the sector tends to increase predictability and hence improves the odds of estimating what the future may look like. Second, time has a way delivering hard lessons and organizations which have withstood such tests over long periods are usually strengthened. We lean toward hard to reach shares which are less actively traded, mainly because they are so often overlooked.
REPORTS
A monthly report is issued to investors because writing down the reasons for an investment is the surest way we know to sharpen thinking and reveal any flawed assumptions.
GEOGRAPHY
The fund concentrates in the United States but is not rigidly confined to any particular area.
